There will be contested elections for the U.S. Senate in 33 states. At stake is control of the Senate. Of the 100 seats in the Senate, Democrats currently hold 51 and Republicans hold 47. There is 1 Independent and 1 Independent Democrat.

Congress

There will be contested elections for Congress in all 435 congressional districts, all newly drawn on the basis of the 2010 Census. Republicans currently hold 242 of the 435 seats in the House and Democrats hold 192. At stake is control of the House, where Democrats will have to win 25 seats in order to regain the majority.
